Orderliness is one of the most important habits in our day-to-day activities. When we think of orderliness, we are not only referring to keeping our home clean or tidy, but also to those personal or universitary tasks of our daily life. Although it is one of the most important practices, we often do not spend the necessary time to maintain order in our lives. We tend to be too much relaxed and at the end we become disorganized, this will lead to more sprawling, thereby creating a routine that become difficult to leave.

Organize your desk

Sort all the elements of your desk and discard whatever is not useful, such as used up pens or used papers that you will not need anymore. Buy a file cabinet and keep all documents well classified and tagged to make it easier for you to find whatever you need. You can include university papers, bills, recipes, among others.

Create a daily list of what you do often

In this way, you will learn to prioritize your time and have clear which activities you have to do that day from the first hour. It can be a list you have on your phone or on your laptop, and you can add information about your social activities, meetings with your university classmates, or just remember you have to do the weekly shopping.

Keep your calendar up to date

This will be useful for your daily life and at your studies. Write down the deadlines for your works and exams, your medical appointments or the dates with your friends. Imagine you have your best friend’s birthday party, you can write down what clothes you will be wearing, what should you buy her, among others.

Prepare your clothes for the next day

Although it may seem an absurd advice, the reality is that every morning we spend too much time deciding what to wear. If you took the decision at night, in the morning you will be more relaxed  and take better advantage of your time. For the bathroom, for the kitchen, for the floor…, there is big number of cleaning products, and it’s important to keep them organized so that it is easier for you to distinguish them. Organize them by room or by function in different boxes, this way when you want to clean the bathroom you will only have to take the bathroom box, use its products, and leave it on it’s place.

Mark all your boxes

If you use a box storage system, it is very important to name them according to what they contain. Whether kitchen utensils, cleaning products or clothing, it will be easier to access what you need if you already know what each box contains. For sure, it will be also very useful if you have to move!

Organize your jewellery

Stop piling your jewellery in a box, your jewel pieces can get tangled and break easily. If you do not want to buy a jewellery box, you can design and make a board and hang it on the wall of your room, that will make it easier for you to get to the jewel you want instantly, and you will avoid any possibility they break up. Check the expiration dates of your food and medications

You will be surprised to see that some of the products in your kitchen or store, and even some medications, are already expired. To avoid that, if you make a big purchase of food, remember to place the oldest products at front, and also verify that the date of consumption has not elapsed. Moreover, you can create a list on your computer with all the medications you have and include their expiration dates.

If you follow each of these tips, you will get everything in your daily life improved. However, you do not need to be overwhelmed, though they are very simple tips, you can start with 15 minutes a day of orderliness. You can reply old emails, verify the expired food in the fridge or start scanning old photos to organizing them on your computer.
